Communication

The College listens to the views of its community. Regular parent meetings are held via the Association so that parents can express their views, while also learning about new educational ideas and developments. At the same time, CBC encourages its students to be involved in the community outside the school and to grow up with a desire to serve this wider community.

Diary

Each student has an official College Diary which contains practical information, including a calendar of the year's events. The College views this as a fundamental means of communication between teacher, student and family. In the Diary there is a page set aside where parents are asked to sign for each weekly Newsletter.

Publications

The College produces the following publications in order to keep students, families and the wider community informed.

  • Newsletter : A weekly Newsletter is printed and sent home with each student on Thursdays. Parents are asked to read this Newsletter and to familiarise themselves with its contents. This is also available on our home page.

  • Loquax Ludi : Annual College magazine that chronicles the school's year.

Reports

Parents will receive four Reports each year. Interim Reports are provided at the end of Terms 1 and 3, major detailed Semester Reports are provided at the end of Terms 2 and 4. Parents/Guardians are urged to discuss the Reports with their son/charge.

Parent-Teacher Evenings & Interviews

The College believes that direct contact between parents, guardians and teachers is a valuable experience. Thus, two evenings, one each semester, are set aside for parents to discuss their son's progress with the relevant teachers. We ask that all parents/guardians attend these evenings together with their son/charge. Year 12 parents/guardians also have an additional evening part way through Term 1 each year.

Parents are encouraged to contact the Principal, Tutors or House Heads to discuss their son's progress or any other area of concern.
